「花蓮國際石雕藝術季」可謂全國歷史最悠久的藝術品牌之一，面臨許多新世代藝術潮流的挑戰，但花蓮仍持續不輟舉辦，因為「石雕」作為是花蓮藝術產業的價值核心，石雕藝術季所扮演的角色正是作為這塊土地與世界之間的聯結平台，不僅為世界各地優秀的石雕藝術家打造出一個優質的創作空間，更為藝術家文化交流、技術分享、實踐藝術的創作平台。除了讓本地及來自世界各地的石雕藝術家透過創作過程的相互激盪、互相協助建立超越國籍、語言的難得友誼，更強調並鼓勵「原創精神」的重要與價值，為花蓮持續拓展國際的視野，並讓世界看到花蓮的美，更是足以代表花蓮的城市藝術品牌。
走過四分之一個世紀，花蓮已成為石雕之鄉，讓民眾更清楚看見這門藝術的永恆與獨特，以及對花蓮這片土地的價值，「越在地越國際」-這是花蓮不變的堅持，我們用自己的文化向世界介紹自己的故事。
第十二屆「2020花蓮國際石雕藝術季」內容極為豐富，首先與大家見面的是自7/18日-9/6日於石雕博物館第一企劃室展出的「2020花蓮國際石雕藝術季-入選作品模型展」，由全世界公開徵選的238份申請中脫穎而出的24件石雕作品模型都會在此展出，讓大家可以近距離的觀賞這些來之不易的小型石雕作品。今年度自九月起還規劃有：石動曼波-花蓮國際石雕藝術季特展、洄瀾石報-花蓮石材教育推廣展、雕塑的力量-台灣雕塑今昔滙展；10月期間的每個週末還另辦理體驗市集、音樂表演、曬書市集、洄瀾書香說故事、雕塑主題書展…等一系列豐富又精采的活動，邀請所有的朋友們可以來到花蓮縣文化局一起共襄盛舉！
由於此活動已在國際上建立高知名度，因此本屆戶外創作營參賽作品水準不只質量高，風格亦相當多元。本屆「花蓮國際石雕藝術季」共決選出6國16位優秀雕刻家。決選入選藝術家之國籍、姓名、作品名稱分列如下：

仔細聆聽縱谷間的自然樂章，

等待金光再次灑下生命的禮讚。
When the wind rises, the trees are stirred like green waves,
Listen carefully to the natural symphony from the valley,
Dance around the flowering shrubs,
At the junction of the sky and ground,
Just wait for the golden light spreading the praise of life again!
2.法蘭西斯柯‧馬索塔Francesco Mazzotta
The two bodies collide with each other due to breathing.
The sounds of the stone cohere into a kind of emotional dance.
Music affects human life.
Breath is the first to be involved,
then the heart ...
Finally, the whole body is constrained by the music.
兩個形體因呼吸而碰撞；
石頭的聲音凝聚成一種情感的舞蹈。
音樂影響著人類的生活。
呼吸是第一個步，
然後是心...
從那裡，整個身體都受到它的約束。
3.樊烱烈Fan, Jiung-Lieh
月伴星空獨山行
竹影扶疏光透雲
山形樹影日漸明
天山悠遊自在尋
夜間獨自走入山林,感受林間夜的寂寥,
思緒自然沉澱,人生的方向也漸漸清晰、明瞭, 深山縱谷已不再束縛,
心靈自在的追尋自我
Walking around the mountain alone with the moon and stars,
Under the shadow of lush bamboo trees in the moonlight that penetrating clouds,
Until the mountain shape and tree shadow are gradually clear under the sunlight,
It’s so relaxed to linger around the mountain that seems near to the sky,
When walking around the forest in the mountain by myself at night, I could feel the solitude of the woods at the night.
My mindset involuntarily rests down thereby, the direction of my life also became clear and intelligible gradually. The mountain and deep valley could bind me no more. I can pursue the true self of my mind and spirit comfortably.
4.文森特‧博菲斯Vincent Beaufils
This sculpture is a tribute to the movement of the sounds made by human beings and nature.
作品創作概念是對人類和自然發出的聲音的致敬。
5.向光華Shiang, Guang-Hua
律動的量體，視覺變化，隱喻山巒起伏 磅礡壯闊。似魚般的生命扭動能量在一次釋放，宇宙萬物內聚能量，張力美感平衡，如綾線交錯流動，一氣呵成，生生不息。
The rhythmic volume and visual changes are metaphors for the rolling hills magnificent and majestic. The fishlike twisting energy of life is released at one time to let the creatures of the universe cohere their energies. The sculpture presents the aesthetic balance of tensions like thin silks staggered and flowing at one stretch and endlessly.
6.羅蘭•霍夫特Roland Hoeft
"The Architectural Form of Memory" is the main theme of my stonework.
Inspired by nature, human forms, and architectural lines, a lively architectural concept has emerged. These shapes of the sculpture create and give space, emotions, and memories, as well as get into a dialogue with the viewer and the environment. From different angles, there are hidden views of human forms and the original cube of stone. For the symposium, I create my design “dynamic relation”. I form with one Line a memory of a dancing human couple.
我創作主題是“記憶的建築形式”。受大自然及人類形態和建築線條的啟發，生動的建築概念應運而生。 這些雕塑創造並賦予空間、情感和記憶，並與觀眾和環境進行對話。從不同的角度看，人和石頭起源於一個立方體的隱藏視圖。 我創建了這次的創作概念“動態關係”，一條線形成了一對兩人舞蹈的回憶。
7.茲德拉夫柯．茲德夫拉科Zdravko Zdravkov
The idea of this project is to create the illusion as if the shapes are raising in space separating one from another and beginning an endless flight. It is a spiritual traveling beyond space and time.
創作的想法是創造一種幻覺，彷彿形狀在空間中一個一個相互分離、升高，並展開始無休止的飛行。這是一場超越時空的精神之旅。
8.赫達雅特•薩萊伊Hedayat Sahraei
Architecture is known as one of the concepts of myth in the world, this sculpture combines details of traditional architecture with musical instruments and takes on a modern state, each of these architectural sculptural. Musical terms con all have an impact on their own bat combining them offers a new form of sculpture.
建築被譽為世界神話之一，作品將傳統建築的細節與樂器結合再一起，並呈現出一種現代的狀態，每個建築都具有雕塑感。
9.馮朝宗Feng, Chao-Zuong
作品發想源自中國古代「夸父追日」的神話故事。
主體以排列組合結構形式創作，輻射狀圓錐體，象徵太陽光芒，穿越太陽中心的圓柱體，以奔跑動態形塑夸父追逐太陽，想要把溫暖放進人們心中的想望。寓意一種永不懈怠 ，追求光明的精神。
The inspiration for the stonework came from a Chinese Fairy Tale " Kua Fu Ran after the Sun". The main part is created by permutation and combination structure, in which the radial cone symbolizes sun rays penetrating the cylinder in the center of the sun while the dynamics of running symbolizes Kua Fu chasing the sun, who is eager to put the warmth into people’s desire and heart. It implies a spirit of never slacking and pursuing bright light.
10.李紫晴Lee, Tsu-Ching
堆疊的歲月，累積成記憶。文化承載人與物的對話，穿越時空來到面前。以連結的圓體代表凝結的記憶，立體方塊代表空間的次元，在時間的長河中留下璀璨的印記。
Piled-up years usually turn to be memories. While a culture carries the dialogue between people and objects, it penetrates time and space to come to us. The author makes connected round bodies to symbolize condensed memories while using cubes to represent the dimensions of space which leave bright marks in the long river of time.
11.王標Wang, Biao
作品結合台灣和消失於正面的花蓮地圖之意像，搭配特有的奇萊山形地貌，透過鑽孔的技術，利用手機的音樂播放擴音，聲音灌穿於兩地圖之間，代表一切從花蓮出發透過台灣擴向全世界。
The artwork combines the image of disappeared Hualien and the shape of Taiwan, collocating with the unique terrain features of Chilai Mountain through the drilling technology and using the mobile phone music to play amplified sounds penetrating through the two maps symbolizing that all the things are from Hualien and expanded to the world.
12.艾奔娜‧米艾洛娃Albena Mihaylova
The arch has been a symbol of glory, fame, victory, and prosperity since ancient times, while the “Gate” has been a symbol of spirit, values, and ideals.
自古以來，拱門象徵著榮耀、名望、勝利和繁榮。"門”亦是一種精神、價值觀和理想的象徵。
13.貝南•莫漢洛Behnam Akharbin Moghanlo
At the moment of wonder!
All of a sudden the sky and the earth are full of wonder!
The time and heart pulse are beating fast...
the world is expecting a miracle!
在這奇妙的時刻！
突然，天空和大地都充滿了奇蹟！
時間和心臟跳動都很快，
世界期待著奇蹟！
14. 拉斐爾‧貝友Raphael Beil
It represents a process leading to the composition of simple elements which creates a system of complexity. Meaning is independent of the medium and it is not located in the smallest part of the whole. Only in the system does the superordinate become visible.
複雜的系統為簡單元素所構成，並且是獨立的，並非存在於最小的部分，僅於系統中才可見。
15.瑪林諾．普羅斯佩羅Marino Di Prospero
In this stonework, there is a style of both dynamic and static forms gradually developing in the concave and convex space, just like a spiritual elevation of a dancer's body full of energies and harmonious gyrations.
作品有著動靜的形式，在凹凸空間中逐漸地發展。 就像是舞者身體的靈性提升，充滿活力及和諧的旋轉感。
16.珍保羅‧查伯萊斯Jean-Paul Chablais
Mind and Matter :
The matter is the most elemental thing, in the sense that it is what exists independently of man, but which is likely to receive its mark.
The circular element designed as a symbol of spirituality, poetry, and the parallelepipedic element to evoke materiality, rigor.
物質在某種意義上是最基本的東西，獨立於人的存在。而徒刑的元素象徵著靈性、詩歌，平行六面體元素則象徵著物質以及嚴謹。
以上1至16名正取石雕藝術家，將由花蓮縣文化局正式邀請參與為期1個月（10月24日至11月22日）在文化局園區舉辦的現場創作，同時和民眾進行互動，屆時歡迎有興趣的民眾到文化局為石雕家們加油，一起探索石雕藝術之美。
